Basketball Recap: North Vermillion Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Vermillion can now relate to. They were beaten by the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights 72-32 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

North Vermillion's loss came despite strong showings from Nora Thomann and Cadence Dunham. Thomann dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Dunham posted eight points. Thomann continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

North Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

North Vermillion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they will take on Riverton Parke at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette Central Catholic will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
