It was fun while it lasted, but Waukomis's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Saturday. They lost 59-39 to the Merritt Oilers. The loss was the Chiefs' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Waukomis fell to 3-1. As for Merritt, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waukomis will welcome Okeene at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukomis is facing Okeene at the right time seeing as Okeene is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Merritt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Apache at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
