Volleyball Recap: Cranston West Comes Up Short

Cranston West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Classical Purple. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Purple this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Friday.

Cranston West started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Angelina Pham, who had five digs and three aces.

Cranston West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Classical, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cranston West will challenge rival Prout at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Classical is set to take on their familiar foe Cranston East at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
