Five-star senior Brayden Burries goes off for 44 points, 12 rebounds in playoff win

Unsigned Class of 2025 prospect is averaging 29.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.9 steals for No. 5 Roosevelt.

Five-star unsigned senior Brayden Burries of No. 5 Roosevelt (Eastvale) erupted for 44 points, 12 rebounds and four steals in an 89-67 victory over Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) in California's Southern Section Open Division playoffs Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-4 combo guard connected on 14 of 20 field goal attempts, knocked down 5 of 9 3-point attempts and converted on 11 of 13 shots from the free throw line to help the Mustangs move to 2-0 in pool play.

Burries is averaging 29.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.9 steals per contest for the season, shooting 56.3 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line.

Despite playing the guard position, Burries has piled up 13 double-doubles this season. He has scored 43 or more points in a game four times this season and set a new career-high with 56 points in a  win over Inglewood back in December.

Regarded as the No. 11 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to 247Sports, Burries is expected to choose between Alabama, Arizona, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee and USC.

Roosevelt improved to 29-2 on the season with games against Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) on Friday and St. John Bosco (Bellflower) on Tuesday looming in Open Division pool play.



The Mustangs are expected to be the biggest challengers to knock off two-time Open Division state champion Harvard-Westlake (Studio City), which is 29-1 on the season and ranked No. 2 in the MaxPreps Top 25.
