Chisholm has gone 9-1 against Newkirk recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Longhorns will head out to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Chisholm is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Chisholm took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Drummond, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Longhorns came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 4-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Newkirk took on Woodland on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Cougars, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Cougars since April 6, 2019.

Grady Wood was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Newkirk and nudges their season record down to 10-10-1. As for Chisholm, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Chisholm took their win against Newkirk in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 22-8 score. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
