Basketball Recap: De Beque Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

De Beque extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping them up to 3-0. They strolled past the Ouray Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 66-48. The Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

De Beque's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Burke Largent, who went 9-for-18 on his way to 22 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Largent is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Graham, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ouray fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cavan Pasek, who shot 58% from the field en route to 18 points and six rebounds. Conner Hill was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

De Beque didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-43 victory against West Grand on the 12th. As for Ouray, they have also already played their next game, a 47-39 win against Rangely on the 12th.
