Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Flames vs. Brentwood Spartans

The Northgate Flames will head out to take on the Brentwood Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Brentwood is hoping to do what East Allegheny couldn't on Friday: put an end to Northgate's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Northgate blew past East Allegheny, posting a 74-34 win. The Flames have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 36 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Brentwood, as they earned their first road win of the season. Everything went their way against Western Beaver on Friday as Brentwood made off with a 68-47 victory. That looming 68-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Northgate now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Brentwood, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Northgate ended up a good deal behind Brentwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, losing 64-50. Can Northgate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
