Soccer Recap: Alleghany Comes Up Short

Alleghany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Staunton Storm, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Alleghany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Staunton are ranked 87th).

Alleghany's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Staunton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Alleghany is taking a road trip to square off against Floyd County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Staunton, they will challenge Buffalo Gap at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Staunton's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Buffalo Gap have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
