Baseball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-16 to make it seven. They fell 9-6 to the Douglas County Huskies. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Nick Laudano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jameson Switzer was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Douglas County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Winning may never get old, but they sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

On Douglas County's side, the team relied heavily on Spensor Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Sharp has become a key player for the Huskies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Max VanDewalker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
