Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Anna Etter and Kara Walker Lead Lewisburg to Victory

Lewisburg's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Oxford Chargers get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kara Walker and Anna Etter did most of the damage at the plate: Walker scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Etter scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindey Willhite, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lewisburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oxford only posted an OBP of .375.

Lewisburg's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Oxford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Lewisburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oxford, they will venture away from home to take on Southaven at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Southaven has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.06 runs per game on average), something Oxford will no doubt try to take advantage of.
