Soccer Game Preview: Lejeune vs. South Lenoir

The Lejeune Devilpups will challenge the South Lenoir Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lejeune will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Lejeune's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Liberty Christian Academy 4-0. That four goal margin sets a new team best for Lejeune this season.

They hit Liberty Christian Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jaiden McNeil (2), Jonathan Maguire, and Logan Lankenau.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, South Lenoir was not quite Richlands' equal in the second half on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, South Lenoir can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Richlands are ranked 50th).

South Lenoir's loss dropped their record down to 5-3-2. As for Lejeune, their win bumped their record up to 7-0-1.

Lejeune beat South Lenoir 3-1 in their previous matchup on September 9th. Do the Devilpups have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
