Basketball Recap: Jafari Jones Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Dillon won the last time they faced Lake View and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the Dillon Wildcats' way against the Lake View Wild Gators as the Dillon Wildcats made off with a 56-31 win. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Wild Gators are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dillon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jafari Jones led the charge by putting up 11 points. Those 11 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of S Taylor, who posted ten points.

Dillon has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Lake View, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Dillon will challenge Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Dillon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. Lake View has already played their next matchup, a 59-45 loss against Dillon Christian on the 16th.
