Basketball Recap: Pike Valley Takes a Loss

Pike Valley and Axtell squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Pike Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Axtell Eagles, falling 64-38. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pike Valley lost, don't look at Breanna Reeves. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. That was a full 44.7% of Pike Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row Reeves has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Pike Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Axtell, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

As of now, neither Pike Valley nor Axtell have any future games scheduled.
