Football Game Preview: Central Columbia Bluejays vs. Warrior Run Defenders

The Central Columbia Bluejays are taking a road trip to challenge the Warrior Run Defenders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Columbia has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 11 straight defeats, while Warrior Run will come in with four straight wins.

Central Columbia is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mifflinburg on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bluejays had to suffer through a 65-3 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Wildcats are ranked 82nd).

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Warrior Run and Hughesville, and Warrior Run kept the tradition alive. The Defenders simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Spartans 42-7. With the Defenders ahead 28-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Central Columbia better keep an eye on Cohen Zechman. He was instrumental in Warrior Run's win, picking up 143 receiving yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 37 yards and one touchdown. Zechman's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was James Keifer, who threw for 154 yards and three TDs on perfect 10-for-10 passing.

Warrior Run's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Central Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Central Columbia lost to Warrior Run on the road by a decisive 30-12 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Bluejays avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
