Baseball Game Preview: Beatrice Orangemen vs. Norris Titans

Beatrice is 2-8 against Norris since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Beatrice will head out to challenge Norris at 11:00 a.m. Norris took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Beatrice, who comes in off a win.

While Orangemen fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They came out on top against Auburn by a score of 7-4 on Thursday. The Orangemen haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kale Koch was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Austin Baldwin was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Norris didn't have quite enough to beat Bellevue West on Friday and fell 6-5. The Titans have struggled against the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Norris saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Fountain, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. Another was Lane Druba, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Beatrice might still be hurting after the 13-7 defeat they got from Norris in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Beatrice avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
