Sweetwater comes up short despite Xzavier Crews' dominant performance

Recap: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Colusa RedHawks

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Sweetwater Red Devils can now relate to. They took a hard 33-17 fall against the RedHawks on Saturday. Sweetwater's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Sweetwater lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xzavier Crews. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.

Colusa was led to victory by Bo Coronado and Aiden Selover. Coronado threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, while Selover rushed for 35 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for him.

Sweetwater's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Colusa, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Sweetwater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colusa also has no future games currently scheduled.
