Baseball Recap: Turlock Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Turlock had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt La Quinta on Saturday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 14-4 victory. Turlock's win was all the more impressive since the Blackhawks were averaging only 3.21 runs allowed on the season.

Cooper Pacheco was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jude Locke also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Turlock hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Turlock's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for La Quinta, they moved to 15-9 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Turlock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Arroyo Grande on the 26th. As for La Quinta, they will venture away from home to challenge Rancho Mirage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blackhawks 3.2, the Rattlers 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
