Germantown gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 60-24 victory over the Warren Central Vikings. The Mavericks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Germantown was led to victory by Charlie Gamberine and Ayla Benson. Gamberine posted 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Benson scored 18 points plus six steals and five rebounds. Julia Glasgow was another key player, scoring 11 points along with two steals.

Germantown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Despite the defeat, Warren Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Camara Evans posted 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Germantown will face off against Jefferson Davis County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Warren Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warren Central will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
