Football Recap: Taylorsville Warriors vs. Herriman Mustangs
Taylorsville had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it seven. They were dealt a 64-0 defeat at the hands of the Herriman Mustangs. The Warriors lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in October of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-8 score last time.
Kymani Taufa threw for 51 yards on five of ten attempts.
As for Herriman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average this season.
Tyler Messer had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 107 yards and two TDs while completing 75% of his passes. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
Taylorsville and Herriman will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Warriors are set to square off against their familiar foe West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Herriman will challenge rival Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
