Softball Recap: Foxcroft Academy Takes a Loss

Foxcroft Academy extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-6 in the process. They lost 15-1 to the Dexter Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 last Wednesday.

As for Dexter, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

For Dexter's part, Kallie Stone made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Stone was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Desiree Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Skylar Gulley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Foxcroft Academy will take on rival Orono at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Dexter is set to square off against their familiar foe Mattanawcook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
