            Baseball Recap: Steel Valley Ironmen vs. Sewickley Academy        
        
		
        
        
            Steel Valley came out on top against Sewickley Academy  on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Ironmen walked away with  a   10-5  win over Sewickley Academy. That's more bragging rights for the Ironmen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Steel Valley let  Logan Thomas and  Jorden Smith run wild. Thomas  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Smith  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Steel Valley is undefeated when  Smith posts two or  more  runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Adrian Briston, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Steel Valley  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sewickley Academy struck out ten times.
Steel Valley now  has a winning record of 7-6. As for Sewickley Academy, their defeat was  their sixth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 1-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steel Valley will host Shady Side Academy  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Ironmen are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak. As for Sewickley Academy, they will welcome Hillel Academy  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
