Recap: Loyola Crusaders vs. New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds
The Loyola Crusaders suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of New Ulm Cathedral by a score of 48-46. Loyola has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
New Ulm Cathedral got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elliott Hoffman out in front who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ben Blomberg, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Loyola's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Loyola will take on Martin County West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Martin County West has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for New Ulm Cathedral, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 787 points over their last ten games.
