Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Montclair walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Moreno Valley Vikings a 5-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Moreno Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Yahir Hernandez (3), Arturo Cercado, and David Murillo.

Montclair's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Montclair has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy on the 15th. Moreno Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
