Softball Recap: Genoa Area Gets the Win

Genoa Area proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Toledo Christian Eagles 5-4.

Makayla Magrum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Maddie Bronowski was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilee Popovich, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Genoa Area now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Toledo Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genoa Area will welcome Margaretta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Toledo Christian, they will challenge Emmanuel Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
