Baseball Recap: Babcock Wins Going Away Against East Lee County

Babcock won against Sarasota Military Academy last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Babcock Trailblazers put the hurt on the East Lee County Jaguars with a sharp 15-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trailblazers.

Paxton Cooper was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3. Cooper is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Cameron Granger also deserves some recognition as he hit his first hit of the season.

The victory got Babcock back to even at 2-2. As for East Lee County, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Babcock will take on Gateway Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Babcock is facing Gateway Charter at the right time seeing as Gateway Charter is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for East Lee County, they will face off against Moore Haven on Tuesday. Moore Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.
