Baseball Recap: Chatham Takes a Loss

Chatham managed to slip by Altavista the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cavaliers came up short against the Colonels on Friday, falling 16-5. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Chatham dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Altavista, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Chatham will head out on the road to square off against Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Altavista, they will square off against Cumberland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dukes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Colonels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
