Baseball Recap: Lake Central Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Lake Central faced Cathedral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Indians came out on top against the Fighting Irish by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Zach Nicola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jake Figg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Jacob Zimmerman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lake Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cathedral only posted a batting average of .130.
