Columbus North is a perfect 6-0 against Floyd Central since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bull Dogs will challenge the Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Columbus North turned things around against Franklin Central on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Flashes by a score of 5-1. The contest marked the Bull Dogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Franko Ortega looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Brock Kintner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jack Whaley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Floyd Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Jennings County on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Floyd Central moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Columbus North, their record is now an identical 4-6.

Columbus North skirted past Floyd Central 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bull Dogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
