Baseball Recap: Varnum Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Varnum put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Glencoe Panthers with a sharp 12-4 win. Fans of the Whippets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Devyn Fullbright was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Varnum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .643 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Varnum's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Glencoe, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Varnum has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Timberlake on the 19th. As for Glencoe, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-0 victory against Mounds on the 19th.
