West Carroll is a perfect 3-0 against Middleton since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The War Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. West Carroll is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
West Carroll couldn't beat Clarksburg on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The War Eagles took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets.
Karma Wilkey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Presley Coleman and Gracelyn Vernon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Coleman went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Vernon went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those stolen bases were Coleman's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Weaver, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
