The Depew Wildcats will challenge the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Depew's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Bishop Timon-St. Jude's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Depew's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cheektowaga with a sharp 7-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The result came thanks to Jeff Nawojski's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justin Refermat, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Fryling was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
Depew was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Timon-St. Jude entered their tilt with St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Marauders.
The result came thanks to Brendan Gossling's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bishop Timon-St. Jude is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.
At the plate, Wes Miller was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season.
Depew now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Depew was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Timon-St. Jude when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 10-5. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
