Soccer Game Preview: Scranton vs. West Scranton

The Scranton Knights will head out on the road to take on the West Scranton Invaders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scranton's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Scranton's offense. They lost 6-0 to Dunmore on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, West Scranton also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Western Wayne on Tuesday, falling 9-0. The defeat continues a trend for West Scranton in their meetings with Western Wayne: they've now lost six in a row.

Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for West Scranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Scranton came out on top in a nail-biter against West Scranton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
