Volleyball Recap: Salem Quakers vs. Field Falcons
Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell just short of the Field Falcons by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Quakers of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Salem actually scored more points across those five sets (106-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 27-25, 12-25, 16-14.
Despite the defeat, Salem saw an underclassman step up: Alivia Ruth had 17 digs and four aces. The dominant performance gave Ruth a new career-high in aces.
Salem's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Field, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.
As of now, neither Salem nor Field have any future games scheduled.
