After flying high against Conneaut last Friday, Harvey came back down to earth. The Harvey Red Raiders fell to the Orange Lions 42-38. Harvey's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shahn Alston, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns, and Markese Wise, who threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Alston's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 141 rushing yards dating back to last season. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Chris Burt Jr., who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
The defeat snapped Harvey's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Harvey will be playing in front of their home fans against West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harvey knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully West Geauga likes a good challenge. As for Orange, they will face off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Perry's defense has only allowed 7.8 points per game this season, so Orange's offense will have their work cut out for them.
