Baseball Game Preview: Simpson Academy Cougars vs. Florence Eagles

The Simpson Academy Cougars will take on the Florence Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Simpson Academy was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Florence 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Simpson Academy got a great performance from Kolt Walker as he tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Barrett McKenney, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Simpson Academy's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).
