Baseball Recap: West Orange Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, West Orange couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Hagerty Huskies on Saturday, falling 14-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this matchup were averaging 3.52 runs allowed.

West Orange saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Acosta, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Kas Ocasio was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

West Orange's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-9. As for Hagerty, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-4-1.

West Orange does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hagerty, they will venture away from home to face off against Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 1.9, the Wildcats 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
