Basketball Recap: Del Campo Takes a Loss

Del Campo entered their matchup against Placer on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Del Campo Cougars lost to the Placer Hillmen at home by a 72-54 margin. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 57-55 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Placer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kannon Rector led the charge by putting up 18 points along with six assists and five boards. The contest was Rector's third in a row with at least ten points. Emmett Rose was another key player, posting 15 points and three steals.

Del Campo now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Placer, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.

Del Campo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-50 loss against Nevada Union on the 9th. As for Placer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-40 victory against Roseville on the 9th.
