Baseball Recap: East's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

East entered their tilt with West on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-3 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 15-4 victory last Wednesday.

Josh Treend made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Treend was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Lunt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of East's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-10 when he doesn't). Beckham Christensen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

East's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for West, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East will square off against Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for West, they will challenge Brighton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Bengals have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
