Baseball Preview: Basha Bears vs. Horizon Huskies
The Basha Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Horizon Huskies at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Basha has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 27.
Things were looking good for Basha after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 7-6.
Brody Whitlow was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Grant Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Horizon didn't have quite enough to beat Sunrise Mountain on Thursday and fell 11-10. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kanon Faseler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Figueroa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Basha's record now sits at 8-12-1. As for Horizon, their record is now 12-8.
Basha came out on top in a nail-biter against Horizon when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
