It's playoff time, and West Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Caston Comets on Monday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
Jalie Glasford made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kailee Bishop, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Sydney Mellon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
West Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caston only posted a batting average of .200.
West Central's record now sits at 15-7. As for Caston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
West Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-4 loss against Tri-County on the 27th. Caston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
