Recap: Gary Bobcats vs. Joaquin Rams
The Gary Bobcats lost against the Joaquin Rams back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Gary fell 34-23 to Joaquin. Gary has not had much luck with Joaquin recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Joaquin found their leader in underclassman Jessie Webb, who scored 17 points along with six steals. Webb is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Kate Fuller was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Gary bumped their record down to 10-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Joaquin, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gary will take on Shelbyville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Joaquin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tenaha at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tenaha's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
