Volleyball Recap: Oxnard Comes Up Short

Oxnard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Redondo Union Sea Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14.

Leilah McDougald paced Oxnard's offense, picking up six kills. McDougald got some help from Maya Cunningham and her 11 assists.

Oxnard's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Redondo Union, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5.

Oxnard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Clovis West on the 3rd. As for Redondo Union, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against San Clemente on the 3rd.
