Volleyball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the American Fork Cavemen, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunder have suffered against the Cavemen since September 20, 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-10.

Rilynne Hollist paced Westlake's offense, picking up four kills. Hollist got some help from Leiema Fano and her seven assists. Fano was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for American Fork, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westlake will challenge Riverton at 6:30 p.m. on September 4. As for American Fork, they will take on Layton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
