Volleyball Recap: Westlake Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Autumn Burke and Leiema Fano

Westlake was the 3-0 winner over American Fork when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunder lost 3-0 to the Cavemen on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Thunder have suffered against the Cavemen since September 20, 2022.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-10.

Leiema Fano and Autumn Burke certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Fano had four digs and four aces, while Burke had 12 digs and one assist. Burke also put up an ace, which was her first of the season.

Westlake is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for American Fork, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Westlake will be playing at home against Riverton at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th. This will be the Thunder's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for American Fork, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Layton on the 28th.
