Basketball Recap: Emma Bogges' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cheyenne/Reydon over Merritt

If Cheyenne/Reydon was feeling good fresh off their 63-21 takedown of Sayre last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The matchup between the Cheyenne/Reydon Bears and the Merritt Oilers didn't end well, with the Cheyenne/Reydon Bears falling 41-27. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Oilers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Cheyenne/Reydon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Bogges, who posted ten points. Braylee Wright was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Cheyenne/Reydon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Merritt, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Cheyenne/Reydon will take on Vici at 12:11 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merritt, they will host Fort Supply at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
