Baseball Recap: Ravenswood Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After only two runs in their last contest, Ravenswood made sure to put some runs up on the board against Calhoun on Wednesday. Ravenswood came out on top in a nail-biter against Calhoun, sneaking past 12-11. Considering Ravenswood's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Evan Swain was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. Ravenswood is 6-1 when Swain posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ralphie Rhodes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ravenswood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Ravenswood's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8. As for Calhoun, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against Wirt County on the 24th. Hopefully Ravenswood paid attention to Calhoun's game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
