Basketball Recap: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Bear River Bears
After a string of three wins, Green Canyon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Bear River Bears. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 64-33.

Despite the defeat, Green Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kloey Tensmeyer posted 13 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Tensmeyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylee Blotter, who had nine points.
Bear River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shelby Wilkinson out in front who went 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points and four steals. Wilkinson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Aubree Fry was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.
Green Canyon now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Bear River, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.
Green Canyon will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Crest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. Bear River has already played their next game, a 51-39 loss against West Field on the 25th.
