After losing to Sumrall the last time they met, West Marion decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bobcats 50-48. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

West Marion was led to victory by Neliyaha Smith and Precious Conerly. Smith dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, while Conerly dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Callason Barnes, who posted ten points and five boards.
