Basketball Recap: West Broward Takes a Loss

West Broward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 84-48 loss at the hands of the Stranahan Mighty Dragons. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-21.

West Broward lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alvin Albert -Viala, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and four steals. Bedirhan Menguc was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 11 points.

Damari Foster went supernova for Stranahan, putting up 18 points and four steals. Foster's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Nealy, who posted 18 points.

West Broward's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Stranahan, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

West Broward has already played their next match, a 63-53 victory against Monarch on the 17th. As for Stranahan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 90-61 win against Fort Lauderdale on the 22nd.
