Basketball Game Preview: East Peoria Raiders vs. Morton Potters

East Peoria hasn't had much luck against Morton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The East Peoria Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Morton Potters at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, East Peoria was able to grind out a solid victory over Washington, taking the game 54-46. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Panthers are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Morton had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rockets 76-41. The Potters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Morton pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for East Peoria, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
